About me

on safari in Kruger

Early in 2007 I gave up the corporate, rat race treadmill of Johannesburg, South Africa and turned my part time passions into a full time lifestyle.

Yes, yes..... a typical "mid-life" crisis move. But I haven't spent a single moment regretting that decision.

During my first year PRR (post rat race) I brushed up and formalised the skills I needed to make my passions for the bush and underwater world economically viable.

Since then I have spent most of my working days guiding in Kruger National Park, one of the most beautiful and diverse conservation areas in Africa.

In 2015 I expanded my horizons to also work as a Tour Leader (and guide) on a route that includes the beautiful Garden Route and Cape Town.

I don't work permanently for any one company, as guiding freelance gives me more time to scuba dive, explore other parts of the world and share my experiences with a wider audience via this blog.

in my alternate universe

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy your "journeys" with me.

(Please note that all my photographs are of wild animals (birds, insects, mammals, reptiles, fish etc....) and indigenous wild plants in their natural surroundings, unless specifically stated otherwise)
